Michael Wohltmann - Strata News (Admin)
Michael has been a personal trainer since 1995. His love for athletics began while attending Rye High School where he varsity lettered in wrestling, football and baseball. He has also successfully competed in bodybuilding winning the (Mr. Teen Natural Pennsylvania Title 1990) and has won various karate tournaments and holds a Brown Belt Goju USA.
He first received his ACE (American Council of Exercise) in 1995 and then went on to receive the ACSM Advanced Health Fitness Instructor certification in 1997. More recently, Michael has mentored with Charles Poliquin whom is thought to be the world's #1 Strength Coach and has acquired his Level 2 Strength Coach Certification alongside his Level 2 Biosignature Certification. With Mr. Poliquin, Michael has been coached to work with clients to achieve overall body balance to reduce injuries, maximize strength, improve body composition and have an advanced understanding of diet and supplementation
Over the past few years, Michael has coached 16 State Records (13 in the youth category) and 5 National Records in the Amateur Athletic Union competition. Michael also holds the New York State Powerlifting record in the dead lift for his age and weight class.
Michael grew up in Rye, attended Rye High School and attended the University of Maryland. He worked at the Rye YMCA from 1995-1998, worked independently from 1998-2000 and successfully opened Rye Personal Training in 2000.
In December of 2007, Michael has expanded into his third and most advanced facility that promises to be better than any other gym in the local area. Soon following in March of 2008, Michael opened up Strata Health Club creating a World Class Personal Training Center.
