Will PHA training keep me lean/help me burn fat?

I read about it on here and wondered if I should incorporate into my training?

Hi Matthew

PHA (Peripheral Heart Action) training is designed to keep you active (and your heart rate elevated) for the duration of the training session. The two basic rules are to do resistance training with an upper and then a lower body exercise with bouts of cardio in between to keep your heart rate elevated.

This seems like a good program to maximize your time in the gym as no time is wasted between sets when you could be burning more calories. However, the lack of rest would probably hold you back from making significant muscle gains unless you weren't very accustomed to lifting weights.

So PHA Training is probably great if you're short on time and just want to maintain muscle or are new to training and to improve your fitness but not for guys who want to put on muscle.
