I currently have scrambled egg on wholemeal toast, and I'm trying to think of some other ideas. Not just for me but for clients too, I want to get them away from the high sugar cereals and toast that most people eat (if they eat breakie at all). What does everyone recommend then? Any interesting ideas?

What are the best things to have for breakfast?

I'm trying this Carbohydrate back-loading diet at the moment, so my breakfast is RUBBISH! I just have 2 pints of water, 3 eggs and 3 egg whites, and if I feel I need it, 30g CHO equivalent of oats.

My favourite breakfast is without a doubt pancakes, bacon and scrambled egg drizzled in maple syrup, but I don't have this currently whilst I am diving this diet a good go.
In terms of diet ideas, I don't think you can really beat eggs, and wholemeal toast is okay, but I think rye bread is much better. A really healthy start to the day would be 2 eggs, 2 egg whites, smoked salmon on rye bread with 2 pints of water. About 30mins after breakfast, a cup of peppermint and green tea to aid digestion.
Whey protein shakes are also a great start to the day. Now I'm not on the band wagon of selling supplements, but I have a friend who really struggles with breakfast. I have tried everything, until I came across this stuff:
