Honey is often included and may have some health benefits but it is mostly composed of the most unhealthy sugar - fructose. In small quantities, this is not a problem (if your calorie intake is correct) but too much of it will have a negative effect on your body composition.
So check the label and look for low sugar and high fibre.
For hard-core dieting to lose fat, just stick with oats (with eggs or whey protein) along with a few berries or a small serving of smoothie drink.
Either way, the serving size is probably as important as the content for weight loss.

I must admit granola is a treat for me. The problem is it does tend to be really sugary. As I am not specifically dieting at the moment, I add a small handful of Dorset granola to my oats in the morning.
You could try making your own granola by buying all the raw natural ingredients and roasting them, but avoiding adding sugar.
All that being said, if you were going to buy granola, I really like the dorset range.
