Could Muslims have a meal and a casein shake prior to the onset of the fast during Ramadan?

Or would this be protein overload?

Generally, with young people, protein is more likely to be retained in the muscle when it is consumed in smaller dosages (20 to 40 grams) and more often. However, studies show that as you get older, larger and less frequent dosages become more useful.

In times of fasting, I would give the body the benefit of the doubt and guess that it may become more and more efficient at incorporating more protein into the muscle as it adjusts to fewer daily meals and longer durations between protein intakes.

Put it this way, if it were my muscle, I'd rather eat more protein and hope that the body uses the excess to prevent muscle loss than take less protein and "know" that I'd get more muscle loss!

Which reminds me...TAKE CREATINE to avoid muscle loss also!
