Do men and women lose fat at different rates?

Am I right in thinking men and women lose fat differently due to the difference of testosterone and estrogen

Yes...a few strange facts...women use more fat for fuel during exercise but yet have a harder time losing fat overall. Women also don't get as much of a metabolism boost from eating as men.

...but the most likely explanation is that this may be due to women having less muscle (which is the body's most metabolically active tissue)....and yes, testosterone is involved in this. More accurately, estrogen seems to cause the body to hang onto more fat than would otherwise be the case and obviously, testosterone is responsible for the larger muscle mass in men versus women.

From a practical standpoint, if you want results, it doesn't do you any good to focus on the fact that losing fat is harder for women, just be aware that you may have to train a little harder or longer or eat a few less carbs, as with the right exercise and especially diet program, women are perfectly able to get excellent results!

You know what makes things difficult for lots of women, its the requirement for chocolate during menstruation. I know I am going of topic here, but its a time when comfort food is required, for what this is worth.
