Can you give me some post workout meal ideas?

Just wondering if anyone could give me a few great post workout meals, around 5 would be great!

Ideally for creating muscle!

The most important one should be your post-workout supplement. Ideally it should contain (from most to least important): at least 20 grams of whey protein (hydrolysed whey is even better), at least 35 grams of carbs (up to 100+ grams if you are trying to gain), 5 grams of creatine, up to 6 grams of leucine and at least 200mg lipoic acid.

Next you can eat anything that contains at least 20 grams of protein from eggs, dairy, meat or fish combined with the same carb recommendation as above - good carbs are bread, mashed potato, rice and pasta.

I'm no chef...I just eat for "fuel" and "recovery"...taste is a bonus. So I'll leave the recipe bit for some one else to take up!

I mix tuna with natural yoghurt, chilli and black pepper, and stick it on a wholemeal pitta. Works out about 30g pro, 35g carb and 7g fat. Pretty quick and easy.

Hello Samuel,

When you say post workout meal I am assuming you mean the meal about 1 hour after you post training protein shake?

I like to have something reasonably light post training, so I would go for salmon with mixed green vegetables and sweet potato mash. With this meal I get protein, fasts, carbohydrates and plenty of vitamins and minerals from the green vegetables.
