How much water should I drink daily when looking to build muscle using a high protein diet?

A lot of people make outrageous claims about how much water you should drink to maximize muscle gains or fat loss or health. The fact is, there is no evidence to show that large intakes of water or other beverages improve these parameters.

Remember, juice, soda, coffee tea, and certain foods contribute a large amount of liquid to your diet. As long as you have some kind of reasonably-sized drink 6 or 8 times per day, unless you exercise in hot conditions or long durations, you don't have to worry about adding more liquid to your diet.

Also, the diuretic (water shedding) effect of coffee and tea are very mild and studies show that a cup of tea has virtually the same effect on hydrating the body as other drinks, so coffee and tea count as a serving of liquid just like water or juice, etc.
