Is it true montmorency cherries are really good for you?

Is this just another fad like acai and golgi berries etc

Decent naturally occurring antioxidants, sadly I'm allergic to cherries.

Acai and various cherries may have slightly higher levels of antioxidant activity in some circumstances or using certain testing protocols but overall, it's more important to get several servings of a variety of fruits, berries and vegetables than it is to concentrate on certain types.

Berries do seem to have unique effects on inflammation, health and certain moderate performance-enhancing effects over and above those of most other fruits and vegetables (that's why I have one or two servings of smoothie drinks per day - smoothies may be even more effective than fresh berries). So don't get too hung up on certain berries, etc. because acai, montmorency cherries and golgi berries won't be significantly more effective than strawberries, blackberries and blueberries.
