Do you need to do cardio training when carb cycling?

When doing low, medium, high carb cycling to cut up, I've heard that cardio is then not really essential. Is this true? If it is not true which day would be best to do cardio on?

Hello Mitchell,

Yes you still need to do your cardio training. All the principles of why we need to do cardio are still true, the advantage of the high carb days is that it helps boost your metabolism, and also re--glycogenates your muscle, but you still need the cardio and HIIT to burn fat.

Yes, without cardio and/or HIIT training, the levels of calories to achieve fat loss would be very low and would likely entail more loss of muscle and make dietary adherence to a low calorie diet very difficult.
