I see the question about Dr Dukan's diet so this is a follow on about celebrity diets. Is this a good diet to follow? What are the principles of the diet and how does it actually work? Thank you in advance.

ANY diet will "work" if you stick to it and keep the calories low enough.
There is nothing special about lemon juice for fat burning. Also, any diet that mentions the word "detox" is virtually always some fad diet that has not been designed by a nutrition expert and has "scam" written all over it.
The only foods that can cause significant "detox" (and only in some circumstances) are coffee, NAC (n-acetyl cysteine), cystine, and whey protein but these don't necessarily increase weight or fat loss (I mention this because "detox" is sometimes inexplicably interchanged with the word "diet").
The trick to a diet is three things:
1. keeping the metabolism elevated
2. maximizing fat loss (whilst minimizing muscle loss)
3. minimizing hunger and the desire to cheat.
If a diet achieves these things it will be healthier, make you look better and be easier to follow than just some fad diet that cuts calories by one means or another.
By making smart food choices, you can ensure that all three of the above conditions are met! Protein keeps metabolism elevated more than fats or carbs and decreases hunger more and helps to maintain lean tissue and burns relatively more fat. Carbs (especially high-GI carbs) increase hunger and shut off fat burning by elevating the hormone insulin. Having a few cheat meals per week gives you something to look forward to psychologically and gives your metabolism a boost that it needs when dieting strictly.
All of these concepts are further explained in my MuscleDiet Cutting Phase Diet that will be available by joining the MuscleDiet Group on FitnessInventor. We'll send you a "heads up" when the diet has been added to the MuscleDiet Group!

Ironically I was having a bit of a debate yesterday with somebody about cayenne which is actually used in the lemon juice diet. Cayenne is essentially powdered chilli, and it can be a gastric irritant. When you see these celebrity diets, don't ever take it as given that its safe. Read the ingredients, and do some research... and when I say do some research, I mean come and ask on Fitness Inventor of course!
