Hello Aaron,

CLA or conjugated linoleic acid is a product that has an array of benefits. It increases fat oxidation by acting as a PPAR-alpha agonist. PPAR's (Peroxisome proliferation activated receptors) are regulators of fat metabolism. They are activated by fatty acid, prostaglandins and drugs like fibrates. These possibly act as sensors for lipid levels, and products like CLA help regulate this system.

CLA might however be a product that works better when used for longer periods of time, and possibly in experienced and trained people. I'm happy to keep reading the evidence.

Hi Aaron

The studies on CLA are varied. Many show fat loss and even muscle gain but some show no significant results. Interestingly, my first-hand experience talking to guys who have used it is very similar. Some guys think it's fantastic (like multi-competition winner James St Leger) and some guys don't feel that they get too much from it!

So I hate to look like I'm sitting on the fence here but the truth is it's one of those supplements that you have to try and see if it works for you.

Let us know how you get on!
