I am trying to eat clean in order to prepare for my first show but I can't get away from junk food cravings. How can I stop them, especially crisps?

1) Eat a large percentage of protein at each meal - this increases metabolic rate (calorie burning), maintains muscle whilst dieting and decreases cravings for bad foods.
2) PLAN! If you don't plan ahead and prepare meals and write down what you will be eating for the week to come, you WILL fail.
3) PLAN a cheat meal or two - Cheat meals keep your metabolism elevated so that your body doesn't sense that you are starving and hang onto every last calorie but they also provide the "light at the end of the tunnel" so when you do crave junk, you can focus on your cheat day that is around the corner.
4) Don't eat excess carbs, they make you hungry and decrease the amount of fat burned whilst dieting.
5) Remember, everyone craves junk...it's impossible not to. If you want results, you simply have to stick to your plan and eat junk when it's scheduled into your diet strategy!

A little bit of research will lead you to many recipes which make nutritionally good food allowing you to eat clean whilst satisfying your cravings.
There are thousands of recipes out there but here's a quick link for you to look at;

I have a protein dessert each night as my last meal which is basically egg whites and casein protein mixed and microwaved for 90 seconds which tastes just like chocolate soufflé.
Another favourite of mine is 2 scoops of protein blended with a little water and ice cubes and then placed in the freezer which takes me back to my childhood as it tastes just like angel delight!
Some of these recipes will help satisfy your cravings whilst staying clean. Cleaning up your diet is all about getting into a routine experiment and find things which suit you and that you like. Once your into a routine it becomes a lot easier and I think you'll find you will crave less!
Take a sweet potato, peel it and then using a potato peeler slice it into crisp like pieces, or very thinly slice, place on a baking tray SPRAY on a tiny bit of olive oil and bake for approx 20 mins, season to taste, perhaps make a healthy tomato based dip to go with it. You can also do this with beetroot and parsnips.
Sometimes the old favorites are the best, find the worst photo of yourself that you possibly can, preferably over weight etc, then stick it where you can see it frequently, usually the fridge, this hopefully will serve as a reminder of why you are doing this, alternatively, put a photo up of what you want to look like, to inspire you and help you through the harder times to remind you of why you are depriving yourself in the first place. I am sure that in time, you won't see it as depriving yourself, just a life style choice. Having read a few of the answers on fi asking similar questions to this, if you are going at the diet hard core and have been for a few weeks , than it is recommended that once a week within reason you can have a cheat night, so if you really are desperate you could have them then, although I think until you rid yourself of that kind of food, you will always crave it, I think in conclusion, that cold turkey is the answer.
Good luck!
Potatoes break down to sugar in your body, sugar is thought to be an addiction. It takes about three weeks to break a habit, and three days to get over the worst.
I have had luck with clients using chromium, vanadium, saffron, and irvingia.

Cravings are a nightmare! This is what I do:
Mild cravings
Glass of water or suck on some ice.
Moderate cravings
Small handful of cashew nuts or a teaspoon of natural organic almond butter.
Serious cravings
I cave in. If I am seriously craving something, I truly believe its for a reason, so I just have it. I should stress that this is extremely rare, and I am very experienced in the dieting process.
In terms of crisps cravings, you could bake some asparagus as an alternative.
