If you think about the number of differences between people who just happen to have the same blood type, it makes it quite clear that one such biological attribute is very unlikely to be the most important factor in determining what foods are best for them. Two people with the same blood type can be very genetically dissimilar and so have radically different susceptibilities to different types of genetically-influenced diseases or predisposition to gaining body fat and therefore they would need different diet recommendations despite their common blood type!
Also, when I offer professional diet advice, I try to keep as many of that person's food preferences in their diet as possible. It's hard enough trying to get people to make small changes to their diets, so good luck trying to tell someone who likes meat to become a vegetarian because they have a certain blood type!
Don't be fooled by this one. I can just about assure you that if this diet was legit, there would be scientific papers backing it up by now but the only studies available on the medline scientific database were 3 obscure studies from ten years ago with no abstract available to read and all published in the same obscure journal.

With my years in training, I have often been curious and have polled many people on their blood types and their eating habits.. Here's what I have found:
-Most people don't know their blood type
-A bloods have a higher concentration of vegetarians
-O bloods can never be vegetarians.
I'm an O blood and the book does work for me.
Peter D'Adamo even has seminars on how to classify people. He says there are 12 different classifications of A bloods... It's very confusing..
My advice if you read the book is to try it and see if you feel better.
Also, Japan has taken this to the N'th degree. They are obsessed with this.
