How do I achieve a lean and defined look?

As a average female in my mid-twenties, how can I become lean and defined? I eat a balanced diet but I don't take any nutritional supplements as I am unsure where to start? I run four times a week no more than half an hour, and do one weight session a week which is mainly a super set consisting of three sets of 12. I haven't seen any change or improvement and am quickly loosing motivation so can you help?

Many thanks

Hello Tinkie,

This is definitely a combination of nutrition, exercise and lifestyle. Please read my answer to the following question for a broad outline of nutrition:

What are the best foods to reduce body fat?

With regards to exercise, I would suggest the following:

3 weights sessions per week split into body parts and lasting approximately 1 hour
3 steady state CV session per week lasting approximately 30-40 minutes each
1 HIIT session per week lasting no more than 15 minutes

This would be your blueprint, and it will work!

Hello Tinkie,

I have to say that I do recommend supplements as part of a good eating regime. Take a look at the PhD Nutrition Diet Whey product.

You can purchase this from TropicanaFitness:

This is simply an example of the products out there, I happen to know about this product as its one I have given advice about before.
