Creatine has never been shown to cause bloating or water retention under the skin of any kind. This is just a figment of people's imagination and is a message that has been pushed by companies who make the newer forms of creatine (the kinds that don't even have 1/100th of the research as the monohydrate form and have yet to be shown to be in any way superior).
In fact, I've talked to some of the world's most eminent creatine researchers who have seen first hand exactly what kinds of changes creatine causes and they agree that creatine doesn't have these alleged affects.
If you cut creatine when you start your cut, the only result will be greater loss of strength and muscle over the subsequent 30 days. Feel free to check out my Facebook profile picture - that's me at 43 years old and fully loaded on creatine...I think you'll agree that I'm not bloated.
