Hello Natan,

Well its actually water loading and depletion that you are referring to. Here you trick your body into expelling excess water to get that paper thin skin look, letting those exploding muscles burst through. For the first three days you water load. The last three days you slowly reduce your water where as you continue to carbohydrate load in a sodium free environment. You carb deplete during the sodium loading section and carb loading in the course of the sodium depletion phase.

Basically water loading and depletion is part of the carb loading and sodium loading program when getting ultra lean. And yes, the combination of all 3 works VERY well.

Yes, just to clarify, a typical depletion entails low carbs, high water and high salt intake from about day 6 to day 3 out from a contest or photoshoot and then the opposite from day 3 to the day upon which you have to be in shape. At this point, drop the salt/sodium way down, gradually up the carbs and then drop most of the water from 24 to 36 hours out.

The timing and amounts of these nutrients depend upon a host of factors and even with expert guidance, it is very difficult to get right on the first one or two attempts.

Each time you go through this cycle, you should take detailed notes of all or your training and dietary intake and if you feel you peaked early, make appropriate adjustments...likewise, if you peak don't get as lean as you would have liked.
