Is Fitness Authority Vitargo EL a winning choice for sportsmen?

I have used a lot of different carbohydrate and electrolyte products during longer cycling sessions, recently this product has been talked about at the club as a "winning choice" for training and racing.

it reads very well, will this type of product be better than the traditional high carbohydrate energy drinks?

First of all, I'm a little concerned that you have linked to Predator Nutrition - their website sells numerous illegal and potentially dangerous supplements (including prohormones that fit the definition of anabolic steroids and have not been properly tested for safety or effectiveness). Companies like them give our industry a bad name. I can't tell you how many times I've had young teenage kids come up to me with oily skin and pimples who have told me that they've used some "powerful, safe" prohormone - and I can also tell you that by looking at them, if they gained any muscle, they must have been pretty skinny before they used them.

Anyhow, Vitargo is a product being promoted by a guy who's been in the industry even longer than me - Anthony Almada. He was one of the biggest early advocates of creatine and played a big part in bringing creatine (the most proven supplement ever) to the sports nutrition market.

I've read the studies on Vitargo. These studies were conducted by very respected researchers and are well-designed and they leave little doubt that Vitargo is probably the best carb source for endurance athletes who do several hours of training per day and it probably has advantages for most other regular exercisers too.

Vitargo is the single most quickly-absorbed carb source and has strong effects on the hormone insulin, which helps transport protein, creatine and the carbs themselves into the muscle.

It can be used between exercise sessions, sipped during or taken after for recovery. I would of course suggest combining it with Essential Amino Acids and/or whey protein.
