Is GVT a good way to kick start your training?

I recently started training with a partner for the first time. Whilst we initially started with a more traditional style of training (3-4 sets, 10 reps etc), because of a lack of consistency, we looked at our training and decided we needed something simpler so we could track our progress. I'd heard of GVT a while ago and thought it might be the way to go. My friend is skeptical about this but we are looking to give it a go for 4-5 weeks and see what gains we can make.
I'm keen to ensure we don't waste the next 4 weeks doing something that is not suited to the level we are at. Whilst building any type of physique takes time and patience, we'd like to see some good gains to keep the motivation high. Is GVT the answer?

GVT is especially good for guys who haven't been training long or haven't been consistent...especially if your goal is to put on mass as quickly as possible. However, be aware, you have to be willing to push yourself and NOT give up. The first several sessions will be brutal and you'll be panting for breath but stick with it and you'll get your just rewards!
