What should I eat and what supplements should I take before the morning of a 5k?

I have a 5k coming up on Sunday the 19th and I would like to be able to run faster than I am... I'm aiming for a 26, right now I'm doing a 5k at 26:58 almost 27 :(
Since this 5k is at 7:30am (sun up) I don't believe breakfast is a good choice. Would you recommend getting my green tea + caffeine 200mg and a banana? Is that a good choice? What supplements do you recommend to gain speed at the race?
Thanks,
Nikky

You aren't likely to benefit from extra carbs because the time frame and distance of the run are not substantial enough. You may just want to have a carb drink and possibly some BCAAs (they can help to combat the feeling of fatigue). I personally would have about 10 grams of whey protein with the Lucozade but not sure if this will help much.
Stay off caffeine for a few days and then take it and the green tea about 30 min before you start running.
