Is it recommended to have fast acting carbs after HIIT?

Hi,

I do HIIT x abs twice a week and after every session I take a whey protein shake with 30grams of sugar.

I'm fairly lean, abs showing clearly, but would like to lean up even more to burn off the last bit of fat on my lower abs.

Would the sugar impact my goal? Or is it still necessary to take after a workout to spike insulin for better protein absorption.

Hi Mark,

Please find my diet below, meals spaced out approx 2/2.5 hrs apart.

- 4 whole eggs + 1 small wholemeal pitta + salad + MultiV + Omega 3 cap

- Green tea

- Whey + creatine (3g) + 60g Oats +20g Flaxseed + cinnamon+250ml skimmed milk

-150g extra lean minced beef + green veg

-Tuna + small wholemeal pitta + salad+ Mixed Nuts

-10mins pre workout - EAA Stack

-Workout

-Whey + creatine(3g) + 30g glycomaize

- Last meal - 150g Chicken + Green Veg + MultiV + Omega 3 cap+ tbsp organic peanut butter+tbsp raw honey.

After 2 hours of last meal - Bed

As for training, I weight lift 3 times a week and do HIIT+abs twice a week.
