Are there any good online personal training courses?

Directed to Bradley.
Hi,

I'm currently my level 2 fitness instructor along side my school studies and hope to progress on to personal training level 3. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good nutrition, kettle bell and if possible, strength & conditioning courses I can do online?

My second question is that when I'm 18 or so am looking to live/work in the US for a few years so would the qualfications level 2 Fitness instructor and level 3 personal traing be valued over there? I'm doing them both with a company called babcok but they are not sure if I'd have to re-sit an exam or something to be able to work in the US with these qualfications

Many thanks,
Brad

Hi Bradley,

I opened my ACSM's Certified News this morning, and came across an article about online tips and tools for exercise professionals, talk about perfect timing to help you answer your question!

Check out Exercise Prescription on the Net (http://www.exrx.net/index.html) for some really good resources to increase your knowledge base.

It has been my observation from talking to managers at gyms here in the U.S. that often they just require that their personal trainers be certified with some legitimate organization, although many tend to prefer an ACE or ACSM certification. That being said, it really seems that the personal training preparation in the UK is much more vigorous than what many personal trainers receive in the US, and I'm sure that if you provided all of your qualifications, there would be a manager that would be willing to hire you here.

Hi lauren,

I see you answered a question of mine a while a go about moving to the U.S which i forgot i posted and kinda asked the same question twice, thanks for posting on both of them.

In reply, i havent left school yet so have nearly 2 years to look around and get more qualfications in the indstury and a bit more of an idea of what i am looking to get out of moving, i think im going to search jobs with my schools career adviser so fingers crossed i can get in touch with someone who can point me in the right direction. I would be looking to move to California or florida, At this stage they to the two places that really stand out to me even though they are very different.

Do you have an email adress i could reach you on if i have any further questions because sometimes i cant get on to this website, would be a great help.

Thank you
