Can anybody recommend a good pre workout supplement that is not high in stimulants? I take Size On Pre Contest during my workout.

Hi Nathan,

From a muscle-building, repair and recovery perspective, the best thing you can take just before you step into the gym is essential amino acids (EAAs). These include the three BCAAs, which aren't enough on their own to maximally stimulate the muscle-building / muscle-repair process. To further boost recovery but also increase performance, take about 200mg of caffeine (tablet or from tea - NOT coffee). Also, ingredients such as citrulline, arginine, specific types of cocoa, green tea, etc can help boost performance and give enhanced muscle pumps during weight training exercise.
