I have a bicep tendon injury at the shoulder insertion, what will my recovery be like?

Can't believe I've just recently discovered this site, it is fantastic!
Anyway, a few years ago I had surgery to repair a labrum tear in my right shoulder. Looks like I need to go back in as I'm still getting pain. Also, my surgeon thinks the long head tendon could well be damaged. I think so too as that bicep is not as 'full' as the other one and I can feel some pain when doing curls. He wants to cut the tendon away and then re-insert it into a hole he is going to make near the top of the humerus.
If I go ahead, is there much chance of a full recovery, will the 'belly' of the long head look different and in the mean time, are there any 'short head' specific curls I could oncentrate on?
Any help at all here would be fantastic, thanks!

I think your particular injury and the way your surgeon is dealing with it is a very complex matter and can only be properly commented upon by a fairly small group of specialized sports injury consultant surgeons with access to yourself in person and access to your x-rays, etc. So I don't think that it's appropriate for our panel to address or comment on.
I hope you understand.
What I can say is that when you get the repairs done, you should take at least 2,000mg or glucosamine, 1,000mg of chondroitin, three daily 500mg servings of vitamin C, 500mg of MSM, a multivitamin/mineral with 100% of the RDA for copper and of course keep your protein intake high and don't restrict calories. This will give the joint the best chance of healing quickly.

I fully understand yeah. I realise my circuumstances are very specific so therefore difficult to comment upon. After the operaion I'll definitely take your advice on supplementation though, I'll do whatever it takes to speed up my recovery time!
Many thanks for your reply and once again I'd like to say how superb I think your site is!
