Is it OK to lift 4 sets, 3-5 reps? Should I alter my food ratio too?

I've just started strength training in the gym, lifting heavy around 3-5 reps of 4sets..is this correct? Should I be altering my food ratio, primarily carbohydrates?

Thank a lot!

Yes this is correct. For maximum strength keep reps low 1-6 and have more sets 4+ make sure you get sufficient rest between reps 3-5 mins as you need your central nervous system to recover as well as your muscles. Also at least 4 days between body parts

With regards to nutrition be sure to keep your protein between 1.5-2g per kg if body weight. If your goal is pure strength you should have carbohydrates as 50-60% of your total kcal intake and the rest from fats mainly omega 3 sources.
