Can you recommed a good protein powder that is soya and wheat free?

Hi there,

I'm trying to loose weight; when should I use protein shakes in my diet? I'm trying to stick to 1500 cal a day and am eating a lot of fish, salmon, turkey, and chicken. I can't have soya because of an underactive thyroid. I am looking for a good protein shake that is soya free and idealy wheat free.

Also, do you have any ideas or websites on fitness, as I've so much to learn on fitness and nutrition; I just started to study both. Many thanks.

Hi Rochelle,

Yes, whey protein shakes are the single best food to maintain muscle, metabolic rate and decrease hunger when dieting...see my previous article - What is the best value whey protein on the market?

For info on fitness and nutrition, you could type topics into the search bar at the top right of this website, you could go to my MuscleDiet blog (www.musclediet.net) and check out Muscle & Fitness magazine - Dr Dan and I write a few columns in there and there are several talented writers who deliver quality information every month!
