Can someone help with weekly food preparation?

In order to make sure I have good meals daily, I obviously need to prepare stuff in advance whether it be on a Sunday for the week or the night before. Preparing sources of protein in advance (meat, eggs etc) seems to be fairly easy to do, but I'm on a bulking diet and I needs me carbs!

I'm struggling with how to make sure I always have a good quality source of carbs for meals. The only source I prepare in advance and store away is pasta at the moment. I like variety and so I don't want to always use this as my carb source for meals. I do use oats at breakfast and potatoes or rice at dinner when I have time to cook right before I eat. But I still have a few meals during work time where I'm going to need to shove it in a tupperware container and take it with me.

I've read that you can't store away rice after cooking due to bacterial spores surviving the cooking process and causing food poisoning, so I'm guessing that pretty much rules out cooking a big batch of rice and eating it through the week like I do pasta...

I know there is wholemeal breads but if there are other options that would be good!

Does anyone have any food preparation tips or batch meals that I can make with good balance of nutrients for bulking?

Thanks guys!

Hi Craig,

Bodybuilders freeze virtually every "clean carb" known to man. There are lots of "2-minute" rice packs by Uncle Bens and and Tilda. Go with long grain, wild or brown rice. They are fantastic and if you only use half just seal it and freeze. I've done this hundreds of times without any problems.

You can also freeze mashed sweet potato as another great option.
