Is 15g of protein powder equivalent to a 15g serving of protein?

Guys,

It's often mentioned that before a workout 15g of protein to be taken with 6g of EAA's is ideal. Now is this 15g of protein powder enough of the protein powder to give you a serving of 15g of protein? Also 6g of EAA's; is this 6g presumably equaling a certain amount of each amino so in some products it may vary? What should the serving be ideally as to know how to adjust the product serving accordingly.

thanks in advance

Hi Adam,

As far as the protein powder, a 15 gram serving of hydrolysed whey (one half to two thirds of a scoop depending upon what brand you use) is probably about 13 grams of protein but I just add this to the EAAs as a bit of a boost to the amino acids. It is the six grams of EAAs that is the more important part. Generally, with the EAAs, if a serving says '6 grams' of EAAs, that's what it is and that's what you need according to the studies.
