Hey Mark,
I have been asked recently to construct a diet plan for a client who is 23.9 stone and 5ft 11. his eating habits so far are as follows:
Cereal or two 50/50 toast and fried egg and cup of tea for breakfast at 8 am
Banana or orange at 11 am but only when i have bought fruit in the office
Lunch can be anything from mixed grill to sub way or a sandwich at 12- 3 pm
Evening meal is cereal or homemade curry and on chapatti.
Drink 3-4 glass of water or ribenea
Height : 5ft 11
Weight : 23 stone 9lb
I am well aware there are a lot of obvious changes that need to be addressed. I was wondering if you could give me any pointers of how to get started so I can get him on the right path to a healthy weight loss without having my client burn out or respond in a bad way to a new plan since his eating habits were so poor before.
Any help on this would be great as this is a big step up on diet plan standards and I do not want to take any risks with this guy's health.

The things that jump out at me are the Ribena, the cereal and the toast. The key is to ensure that the serving sizes are appropriate. If his weight loss comes to a halt, then the serving sizes of toast and cereal will have to be reduced and if he can switch to Ribena lite, that would obviously be preferable.
Also, I'm sure the toast is not dry and he consumes other calories which aren't detailed above.
Finally, green and other non-starchy vegetables should be eaten at a minimum of two meals per day to ensure good health, gut function and reduction of hunger.
