Hi,
I am on the lookout for an omega 3 supplement to start taking. Can anyone explain what I need to be looking for in a good omega 3 supplement as well as if liquids are much better to take than tablets. Also what advantages in regards to weight loss do omega 3's present.
Thanks in advance

I have used udo oil in the past and found it beneficial. There has been studies conducted suggesting fish oil has numerous benefits over flax oil and other types of oil in terms of cardiovascular health. A good fish oil product should be of pharmaceutical grade and free from environmental toxins or pollutants. Mark has referenced the amount of DHA and EPA that you should be looking for per serving.
Quite a good product that is popular in the states is omegalyse by species nutrition. Check it out but i am sure Mark or dan could recommend a good product also.
Thanks for the reply. I am based in the UK so it needs to be a product i can get over here. I have tried Udo's in the past but i think i am getting enough omega 6 from food so i want to get a omega 3 only supplement for now as i know i am lacking in this in my diet.
I was recommend this supplement

I would take it 3 times a day. I am not really a fan of the liquid oil but have no issues taking it.
Thanks

It looks a decent dosage of EPA and DHA, quite an even balanced ratio of both. I have no experience of using these products so I have to be cautious not to be judgemental but the only concern I have is the lack of information on the label. I am not saying this is a bad thing because sometimes big supplement companies use exaggerated marketing tactics and claims that can mislead the consumer. However, a little more transparency wouldn't go a miss.

I used to use iSatori Omega-3, as it was very high in EPA and DHA but it is almost impossible to find in the UK now. So I now use Reflex - I think it is now one of the most highly-concentrated in EPA / DHA available in the UK and the price is good.
As much as I respect Udo for popularizing omega-3 (although he didn't discover it by any means), fish oil is far superior to flax and other non-animal / non-fish sources of omega-3.

in regards taking the supplement in either on tablet or oil form, does it make much difference?
Thanks
Mark
Go with capsules unless you don't mind the fishy smell of taking the liquid fish oil by spoon.
BTW, I think the Reflex product is just called Omega 3. Other fish oils are fine but you'll probably have to take more to get the same dosage of DHA and EPA

I was also recommended the below products. If you don't mind can you have a look at the links and let me know your thoughts?
