Can anyone suggest a good protein brand?

Can anyone suggest a good protein brand? I've just finished using maximuscle but wondering if there are any that are as good but not as expensive?

Hey RB281,

The majority of the whey protein brands popular at the moment are on a par with each other as far as quality goes. The best thing to do is find one you like the taste of and stick with it. Most of the major brands offer sample sachets quite cheap so shop around and see which one you prefer.

Obviously you could spend anywhere between £20 and £80 for the same weight in whey, generally but not always, the more you spend the better quality of whey you get. Recently the price of whey supplements have dramatically shot up in price but Maximuscle, for example, offer a no frills version of their original protein in the form of maxiraw. Myprotein also offer cheaper whey.

Both of these companies are branding their whey as sacrificing packaging costs to deliver a decent protein source at a more affordable price - MyProtein offering 2.5kg for around £25 and maxiraw offer 2.5kg at £35 - significantly cheaper than maximuscles promax 2.4kg at £80+.

Check out as many as possible and try before you buy.
