When to do Clean+Jerk and Snatches?

Where would you place these exercises in a training program? Let's say you were doing a split program either 5-day or 2 day, what body part would you add it to or would you have a separate session for these types of exercises?

Hi Craig,

It depends heavily upon your goals. If you are training for power or to increase your performance in these specific lifts, then you should probably devote one day to focus on just these two exercises, perhaps warming up with deadlifts (Reps of 20, 12, 8, 4, 2 - starting light and progressively going quite heavy). This will prepare the neural signalling in your fast-twitch muscles and prepare your joints for the power movements. Also, if this is your goal, take at least 3 minutes between sets after the deadlifts.

If you are training for other goals, you may want to add them into your leg day as a finisher.

Ensure that you leave plenty of rest (3 or 4 days) after the deadlift/C & J/Snatch session before you do a separate leg day.
