How can I improve training and nutrition? Is my supplement stack ok?

Directed to Mark Gilbert.
Hi,Thank you very much. That is what I plan to do when I get back in to training in 2-3 weeks when I renew my gym membership. I've had 5 months off due to injury but am ok to train again now (parents said I have to do 2-3 weeks of swimming before I go in to the gym again) . So how can I make my training to suit me during the season and what was wrong with that? Was it to much and not enough rest?

Now for my diet. Have you ever heard of a cut, bump blitz carb diet? I read about it in muscle mag a few months ago and its mean to allow you to stay lean while adding bulk but as you said it's never going to work like that. If you know anything about the diet please say if not can you give me some nutrition tips on how to add mass? If you would like me to write down the cut, bump, blitz diet please say and ill do so.

Supplements- the supplements i have at home are..
sci mx hardcore
Low carb pure whey
jack3d
hydroxy cut powder zma
and some Xinaical ( fat stripper that im keeping for summer )
then fish oils,vitamins and minerals
and im going to order some createin soon, now is all this ok to take while bulking ?

sorry for all the long questions, thank you for reading

Hi Bradley,

I haven't read that article specifically but the cut, bump blitz carb diet sounds like a "carb cycling" diet in which you have low-, medium- and high-carb days.

This takes a good deal of planning and discipline but it can work quite well if you really think you have the will to stick with it.

Here is my angle on carb cycling. If you feed your body more carbs in the 12 to 18 hours after weight training but restrict them at other times that gives you the advantages of higher insulin levels for post-exercise recovery, restores your muscle sugar (glycogen) levels but shouldn't lead to as much fat gain because just as you are topping up your carb (glycogen) levels, you cut the carbs right down before they "spill over" and can cause the retention of body fat.

How you arrange this depends upon how often you lift - if you train more often then you may have to give yourself a shorter window or not increase the carbs after one session per week.

Your supplements look fine. If by "sci mx hardcore" you actually mean Omni-Mx Hardcore, it contains creatine, so if you take that at least once daily (ideally twice on training days and once on non-training days, there is no need to take an additional creatine product. Take the Omni-Mx after training and otherwise any time.

Now that creatine monohydrate has been exhaustively studied and has not been shown to have any negative side effects, you can stay on that permanently - it helps build muscle and helps retain muscle when dieting.

Hope that's helpful and if you need any further clarification, feel free to ask a new question.
