Would you ditch dairy on a cutting diet?

Hi

Would you leave out all dairy foods including milk and what food fats would you consume if any?

Hi Quelly,

I wouldn't want to drink too much milk on a cutting diet because over two thirds of its calories are from carbs (the milk sugar, lactose) and fat. Some cheese is ok as long as you're watching your carbs (there are no carbs in most cheese but it's high in fat).

However, whey protein is dairy but it has been shown to be just about the best thing you can eat for health, increasing muscle and decreasing fat mass, so I certainly wouldn't exclude whey protein from your diet just because it's a dairy food!
