Is red meat really that unhealthy?
I have a vegetarian friend going around saying that red meat is bad for you. Now I've been fighting my corner respectably (as I have nothing against vegetarians) but is there really anything bad about red meat other than saturated fat levels? Surely if you choose lean cuts and cut off any visible fat, eat in moderation and take part in an active lifestyle to keep up levels of HDL, then surely there's nothing intrinsically wrong with red meat right?
