What are your experiences of biosignature protocols for fat loss?

Hi all,

I am just wondering if anyone has any experience of utilising biosignature protocols for fat loss. If so, what were the results like? Also, what was the diet like?

Thanks in advance,
David

Hi David,

Biosignature implies that they have all of the answers and that they can recommend the perfect program for you based upon hormone and fat site testing. This kind of testing certainly can give some indications of what may be the best dietary, supplement and training strategies for individuals but this is a very inexact science at this point in time.

Specifically, some of the nutritional advice is certainly suspect. Charles Poliquin is definitely a qualified strength and athletic coach but he does not have the requisite education or experience to make expert nutritional or supplement recommendations.

That's not to say that all of his nutrition and supplement advice is wrong, it's just that someone like myself who actually has a degree in nutrition and has worked in clinical, medical and sports nutrition for almost 20 years will identify several flawed beliefs and recommendations when unqualified people give dietary and supplement advice...and like most people who give advice in the sports nutrition field, Charles is not a qualified expert in nutrition.

Hey, few of the trainers in our gym have done Biosignature and have seen some good progress with clients, although when you tell someone to change there diet dramatically and make that calorie deficit, ie no wheat, diary, gluten, grains etc which poliquin suggests, of course you're going to see some changes! I was going to do the course a few years back, but it's alot of money and u have to renew your cert each year and update your sofware! Rather spend my money learning something new each year! I think it's important to teach your client good nutrtional habits, get the basics right first, which most find hard to do in the first place, being put on such a restricted diet and swallowing alot of expensive pills and supplements may work but how sustainable is it?? Have to give it to poliquin though he's a marketing genius!!
