FEATURED QUESTION!
Do stimulants stop muscle growth?

Mark you said in another post "geranium oil extracts and chemicals cause vasoconstriction (narrowing of the blood vessels) "
So would one assume that other stimulants would also do this like ephedrine and caffeine?
So would this narrowing slow down the up take of nutrients into the muscle cells And slow Growth down?
But while using these would the intensity of the work out not over come this ?

Great questions!
Geranium and ephedrine both narrow blood vessels (vasoconstriction) but that's only one aspect of their effects.
Firstly, let's start with geranium - more specifically, its active ingredients, 1,3 dimethylamylamine / methylhexanaime / 1,3 dimethylpentylamine, which are found in "geranium" products.
The problem with geranium / "1.3", is that there isn't any research to prove that it increases exercise performance or fat loss. Although it certainly gives lots of people the "feeling" of having increased energy and focus and because of its structure it is a very good bet that it decreases appetite and increases the metabolic rate to increase calorie burning.
As you correctly imply, geranium (1,3 dimethylamylamine) is a very similar stimulant to ephedrine (and both are similar to amphetamine but milder in effect). Ephedrine combined with caffeine has been clearly shown to increase endurance performance and may increase muscle strength and weight lifting performance. Most experts believe that it is primarily the caffeine that causes this increase in performance, whilst the ephedrine increases focus and mental energy. Ephedrine's big advantage is that it decreases appetite substantially and increases the metabolic rate.
Caffeine has an initial vasoconstrictive effect but shortly after it actually causes dilation (widening) of the blood vessels. Caffeine has very complex actions on the body that I could discuss for hours but in brief, it brings calcium into the cell, which stimulates nitric oxide, inhibits phosphodiesterase and blocks the adenosine receptors in blood vessel cell walls, which has the opposite effect and may lead to the initial vasoconstriction.
As far as these stimulants influencing muscle growth, ephedrine, if anything, was known to help users hang onto "more" muscle when dieting - remember, increased blood flow is only one aspect of improving muscle mass and these stimulants have other influences on muscle cells that would be likely to increase muscle growth.
And as you say, the increased focus and training intensity that most people who use these products feel would be expected to further improve muscle gains.
So the bottom line is that caffeine definitely increases endurance and some aspects of muscular performance and it also increases metabolic rate and increases the amount of fat used for fuel. So caffeine is the only proven performance enhancer.
Ephedrine definitely increases fat loss but not necessarily performance, although it definitely increases focus and intensity in the gym for most users.
Geranium (1,3) certainly seems to increase focus and intensity during training like ephedrine does but no one knows for sure if it increases performance (or possibly even decreases it) or increases fat loss, etc.
However, as you say, anything that makes you train harder will likely improve your results!

Well one will carry on the ECA/Jack3d/RedHotz and may be add a extra Cell Volumizer Product.
The Red Hotz on a empty Tummy befor morning traing hit the spot but as you say they do stop you eatting as much which can be a good thing and a Bad thing.
