What do you think about Gaspari Size On?

I know a lot of people that use this product whilst training but I've heard it contains glucose and just wondered why would it be considered worth taking whilst training if its going to spike your insulin?

There are two versions of Size On - Maximum performance and Pre-Contest. The Maximum Performance has about 40 grams of carbs, mostly as palatinose but also as glucose and trehalose. Glucose is a high-glycemic sugar but palatinose is a very slowly-absorbed sugar (disaccharide) with a low glycemic index and which doesn't stimulate insulin nearly as much as most other sugars. Trehalose also doesn't increase insulin much and is more like a fibre than a sugar.
Maximum Performance also contains a small amount of pterostilbene, which would probably lower blood sugar levels during training (which is just as bad an idea as increasing insulin). The body takes a lot of trouble to release glucose into the blood at high levels during training and increasing insulin functionopposes this, so would be expected to decrease energy levels and performance.
So Size On Maximum Performance contains a good dose of carbs and as such is great for guys with faster metabolisms or who are in a mass-gaining phase.
Size On Pre-Contest has no sugar and virtually no carbs so this is the one to use if you put on fat easily or if you are in a cutting phase.
