Green Tea and Cayenne - James St Leger

As an athlete of Grenade Thermo Detonator, I constantly get asked about the ingredients, and non more so than Green Tea extract and Cayenne. Grenade Fat Burners contain really high levels of the best forms and qualities of these substances and I am going to enjoy informing you all about these potent products.

I will also point out that I am in the fortunate position of having access to one of the super brains in the industry, Mark Gilbert, so some of the more scientific information has come direct from the horses mouth!

Green Tea Extract

It’s possible that green tea extract is one of the most potent natural fat burning products available on the market. Green tea extract is slightly different from green tea drinks because the extract contains much higher levels of the catechins (such as EGCG - epigallocatechin gallate), which are polyphenols and have been shown to be responsible for the fat burning properties of green tea. The combination of the polyphenols and caffeine seem to increase thermogenesis and fat oxidation, boosting the metabolic rate by as much as 4% with no associated increase in heart rate. It’s possible a cup of green tea might have an effect on fat loss, but this has not been proven in research as green tea extract has. Put it like this, it certainly will not do you any harm to drink a cup of green tea, as there are other anti-oxidants present, but it’s the extract that burns fat.

In case you are wondering, Buddhist Monks drink lots of green tea - and how many of them are over weight?

Cayenne

Cayenne is a plant that has been used in medicine for centuries. Capsaicim is the active ingredient in cayenne and is what you will find on the label of Grenade Thermo Detonator.

There have been a number of studies investigating the use of cayenne in the management of obesity because it has been found to reduce appetite and increase the rate of metabolism of fats. This is great in terms of dieting to get “ripped” because it will control hunger between meals (so you don’t snack and mess up your blood sugar control), but also anything that can naturally speed up fat metabolism is great!

Also of note, capsaicim is a potent anti-inflammatory, so as long as you are not sensitive to the irritant effects of cayenne peppers, it also has a mass of other beneficial properties.
